Six months

What is this you say? My daughter is 6 months old today?

Please, say it isn’t so.

I can’t believe six months ago today (@ 1:27am) I had this little tiny baby girl. She is getting so big so fast and I’d like her to slow down just a little bit. Or at least I’d like her to take a nap or two during the day, so I could take a shower during the day, or do the dishes, or nap with her. (I literally had to call my mom on Monday and ask her to watch her for a few hours while I showered).

So I don’t have a napper, big deal, right? I will say I do have a beautiful, healthy, happy, funny baby girl. And I’d rather have her the way she is than anything different.

Thank you, Lux Finley, for making these last 6 months so amazing.

Ordinary moments In our ordinary lives

I awoke with the baby this morning at 3am and am having trouble sleeping, so i guess a blog post would be a good thing to do.

This girl has been going through some crazy changes! She has two teeth now! I can’t believe it. She is such a trooper. She bites hard, even left some marks on her daddy’s finger the other day!
We’ve been feeding her baby food here and there. I started her on veggies first, because I figured of course shed like fruit (who doesn’t?!) I’d rather her be established on the veggies so she can learn to like them and later on she’d eat them no problem (at least this is my logic). So far, SO GOOD! We tried sweet potatoes first, then carrots, and peas the last couple of days. She is definitely her mother and father’s child. She is an eater! Yay!

She is almost crawling. Like, it’s a matter of weeks, really. Oh, and she’s also sitting up pretty well, too.

With every new milestone it makes me so proud to be her momma. I never thought I could felt this way about another human before in my life but my heart just, gushes for her. This almost crawling around business scares me but I am so excited for what is to come with her!

back to normal (kinda)..

(i know i’ve been slacking…. I can’t believe how busy life has become!)

Well, the holiday’s are over and things are kinda slowing down. [emphasis on the kinda, we still are traveling a lot for family/friend get togethers, and such]

Christmas was really special. We went to my mom’s where my sister and brother in law were there, and my mom made Prime Rib (uh, the BEST). I must have been a good girl this year because I got a Kitchen aid mixer, and I got this watch which I’ve wanted, for like, ever.

The day after Christmas, we went to Chico to visit my dad and step mom. My dad made his famous/secret recipe TOSTADAS. Ask anyone who’s had them, they’re really something special. I even had left overs for breakfast. Here’s a photo, which of course never even do them justice:

We spent New Years with each other at home, put the baby to bed, and watched movies until 2am with a bottle of Champagne. Definitely beats last years, considering I’m pretty sure I fell asleep before midnight (pregnant at the time).

The next morning we woke up to find that SOMEONE cut a tooth! I am so very excited for her… even though, it has been super tough. She has been so grouchy and upset. But I think she’s starting to feel a bit better because she’s been in better spirits. We tried to take a photo of her toofer, but it was difficult:

This was Russell’s best attempt! You can kinda see a tiny bit of white.

That thing is SHARP! Poor girl, she’s had a rough time with the teething but she’s doing great.

Other than all that above, we enjoyed having Russell home and visiting friends and family and such. We are off to Ukiah this weekend for our friend and their daughter, Leah, her naming ceremony.
